Life as a Farm Wife
Welcome to the ramblings of my mind and the passions of my heart. Who am I? I am a child of God, a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a teacher and a constant learner... often the hard way.

Four Fast Ones

SO, nearly two months ago, my eldest child turned FOUR! I meant to create a post in honour of him before now, but I seem to have difficulty finding time to sit down and write... ;)

This is a snapshot of the last four years with my boy at his current state in the middle.

Ahhh.... Jett Jaxon Schultz. He is a sweet and snuggly, energetic, adventurous, inquisitive, intelligent, determined, affectionate, helpful, caring and handsome little stinker. I am crazy about him. (and sometimes he makes me crazy) I love watching him 'take shape' as an incredible individual. The growth I've witnessed in him during this last year makes me so proud.

Here are a few of the many faces of my JJ.
I love those dimples, endless blue eyes, cute little nose...

The pictures aren't all in sequential order. I find it incredible how much older J looks now than a year ago!!! I miss his longer locks and baby face. His short cut is so handsome but it makes him look so much older!

This post is all about my boy, so I'll take a moment to "toot his horn" ;) Jett began skating lessons this fall. He started at zero; I'm talking Bambi legs all over the place. He is one determined little guy though, and I was amazed at how he progressed week by week and became a more confident skater. At the end of the season in March, our skating club has a carnival to showcase our skaters and celebrate their achievements. Jett was honoured with the award of the Most Improved Skater in the whole bunch! There weren't many awards given and I had no foreknowledge of him receiving this. When they called his name, I got choked up in a good, overly proud mama kind of way. They explained that usually each skater advances a level each season, but J advanced two! SO proud of my boy.

On Jett's actual birthday, we celebrated as a family (extended) at the Travelodge. Jett is my first water baby and can seriously spend hours in the pool and on the slide. We ordered in pizza from Pizza Pirates because it had the best rating on Urban Spoon and it did not disappoint.

My boy was thrilled with all of the Lego he got for his birthday. ;)
We also did plan a little shindig for J to celebrate his birthday with buddies. He has some good friends from church, preschool and our general community of friends. The boys burned a lot of energy running through CJ's Climb and Play. I know Jett had a blast.
Lots of sweaty red faces ;)
It has been four fast years and I am excited to watch Jett grow up even more. He is a gift and one of my greatest treasures.
